10 Seasonal Items fun to crochet for Spring.

10 Seasonal Items fun to crochet for Spring.

When I crochet for myself, I love to crochet seasonally. This is because different seasons offer a wide range of themes and possibilities for craft projects. From warm scarves in the winter to light, lacy items in the summer, the variety of seasonal projects keeps crafting interesting and engaging.

As a result, I decided to show you a list of 10 items that can be really fun to craft for Spring/Easter time. I haven't made all of these myself yet, but watch this space; hopefully they will be arriving soon.

  1. [Easter] Bunny Amigurumi: Create a cute and cuddly Easter bunny using pastel-coloured yarn. Add details like a little carrot or a basket to make it festive.

This bunny can join you for Easter Day and who knows, maybe hide some chocolate around?

2. Easter Egg Cozy: Create small cozies to cover Easter eggs. Use bright, springtime colours and add embellishments like flowers or ribbons. I also love to make little animal egg holders. I feel it is the greenest way to give a chocolate egg without all of the packaging that you get from the shops.

3. Springtime Garland: Make a cheerful Easter-themed garland with crochet motifs like bunnies, chicks, eggs, and flowers. String them together for a festive decoration. You will see in the pictures a garland with bunnies and eggs that I crocheted within 3 months of learning the skill. Sadly in my current home, I have no fireplace, but I dream of owning a fireplace with a mantle above it where I could create a beautiful Springtime wreath. I particularly love to see garlands and wreaths from Kate Eastwood (Just Pootling). I would highly recommend having a look at some of her patterns if you are eager to make one.

4. Floral Appliqué: Crochet small flowers or other springtime motifs to use as appliqués. These can be added to plain Easter baskets, hats, or clothing for a personalised touch. I created some puff flowers to make a Springtime cushion, a vase of gerberas and have frequently made flower appliques for cards, badges or decorations. I bet you will spot them on many of the items you see that I have crafted.

5. Easter Basket: Create a functional and decorative Easter basket using a combination of stitches and pastel yarn. Add a handle and embellishments like flowers or ribbons.

6. Chick Amigurumi and decorations: Craft a cute little chick with yellow yarn and orange beak and feet. This can be a delightful addition to Easter baskets or as standalone decorations. I use the needle felted chicks that I have created on an Easter tree.

7. Bunny Ear Headband: Crochet a headband with bunny ears for a festive and playful accessory, especially for kids celebrating Easter. To date, I haven't managed to make one of these. However, it most definitely has been on my daughter's wish list for quite some time, so I am hoping to get that one ticked off this year.

8. Springtime Table Runner: Make a decorative table runner with Easter-themed motifs like eggs, bunnies, and flowers. It adds a festive touch to your Easter brunch or dinner table. I was planning on making this last year. but was gifted a beautiful table runner that I used for my Easter table.

However, I absolutely love to see these when I scan crochet patterns, and have a real desire to make this bunny runner (Easy and beautiful Easter Table Runner video on you tube - Crochet with Tiffany Hansen) one day.

9. Easter Egg Ornaments: Crochet small egg-shaped ornaments using various stitches and colours. Hang them around the house or use them to decorate an Easter tree. If you look at many of my pictures you will notice them thoughout.

10. Personalised Decorations: Creating seasonal handmade items allows you to personalise your space with unique decorations. What ever Season, or occasion, handmade items add an individual touch to your home.

I would LOVE to hear if any of you use any of these ideas to create some Seasonal items this Springtime. Do get in touch with me if you have been inspired!
